November SNAP benefits are delayed for more than 900,000 people in Washington. The Trump administration agreed to release contingency funds to provide partial SNAP benefits this month, but refused to allocate additional funding to provide benefits in full. This is the first time in history that SNAP has gone unfunded — meaning that thousands of families in our state will go without the support they need.
This crisis is preventable. Take action now: tell the federal government to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown.
SNAP is one of the most effective tools we have to reduce hunger and support our economy. SNAP brings over $2 billion in federal dollars into our state each year, and supports 1 in 9 Washington residents. When benefits aren’t paid, households go hungry, local businesses lose revenue, and entire communities feel the impact.
This doesn’t have to happen. Food assistance should never be a bargaining chip in budget negotiations — and low-income families shouldn’t become collateral damage.

This crisis is preventable. Tell the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Congress to fully fund SNAP benefits during the government shutdown. Nobody should lose access to food because of political gridlock.
